New England rallycross fans finally have had their wishes granted.
Red Bull Global Rallycross released its 2017 schedule Thursday that includes new events in Thompson, Conn., Memphis, Tenn. as well as Canada. In addition, the season finale once again will be held in Los Angeles, where Scott Speed clinched his second consecutive GRC title in 2016.
“This should be a banner year for Red Bull GRC as we continue our ascent in the world of motorsport,” Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne said in a statement. “We listened to the feedback from our fans, and the 2017 schedule reflects the demand to bring our unique brand of racing to new locations, as well as to return to a number of fan-favorite venues from previous seasons.”
One of the fan favorites Dyne was referring to is the August doubleheader in Atlantic City, N.J., which was introduced to the schedule for 2016 and produced some spectacular racing.
Although the complete 2017 team and driver entry list is still being finalized, GRC announced veterans Scott Speed, Tanner Foust, Brian Deegan and Patrik Sandell will return to the American rallycross series.
