Identifying police cars on the side of the road isn’t as easy as it used to be.
For roughly two decades, motorists needed only to be able to recognize a Ford Crown Victoria. Now, between the Dodge Charger Pursuit, the Cheverlet Tahoe, the soon-to-be-discontinued Chevrolet Caprice as well as the Ford Police Interceptor sedan and SUV, you almost need to be a massive car nerd to stand a chance at spotting a cruiser.
Thankfully, we are massive car nerds, and we know of a few patrol vehicles on the road that some gearheads wouldn’t even expect to have flashing blue lights on the roof. Here are five of the most-unique police cars in the U.S.:
