Win a World Series, and get a truck designed in your honor. That’s not a bad deal.
In an idea inspired by a Royals fan, the Ford F-150 MVP edition pickup truck celebrates the Royals’ 2015 World Series win — just as Ford honored the Royals’ first World Series title 30 years prior. Marc Lasalle, a longtime Royals fan, apparently reminded Ford of the 1986 Ford Ranger MVP edition that honored the 1985 champions.
It was such a good idea the first time, Ford figured, it would try it again.
The truck comes in, not surprisingly, colors Royals fans will appreciate: Oxford White or Blue Flame. It also will feature special MVP badging, polished stainless rocker panels and a spray-in bedliner.
In all, 300 trucks were produced at the Kansas City Assembly Plant, and are on sale now at Kansas City Ford dealers.
Check out reigning World Series MVP Salvador Perez and Bret Saberhagen, who claimed the same crown in 1985, promoting the truck in the gallery below.
